We Serve the Huminity

We are a nonprofit organization that is dedicated to empowering needy people. All of our projects are currently occurring in Bangladesh. We have successfully Implemented a number of projects and are working hard to launch many more in the near future.

Our current programs include the distribution of sewing machines to the women in Bangladesh suffering from poverty to help give them a means of income. Many people are forced to walk long distances just to get some clean water to drink. Our Tube Well project makes it easy for people to access clean water by the installation of tube wells near homes so there can be clean water available for families.

We try our best to make the blessed month of Ramadan easy and special for the poor Muslims in Bangladesh by providing them with Iftar, gifts on Eid, and have Qurbani services available.

Basmah, (Bangladesh American Society of Muslim Aid for Humanity) is the North American branch of the Meer foundation which conducts most of the projects and programs under our administration.

The Meer Foundation USBD Inc. DBA: Bangladesh American Society of Muslim Aid for Humanity(BASMAH) are also working in collaboration with the Basmah Foundation, located in Bangladesh.

Our Projects

The Rohingya people of Burma (Myanmar) are considered one of the most persecuted groups of people in the world. Nearly one million of them have fled to Bangladesh as refugees because of the ethnic cleansing occurring in their country. Meer Foundation USBD is dedicated to aiding these refugees.

Natural disasters and flooding often strike Bangladesh, and because these regions aren’t wealthy, there is no immediate access to fresh water post-disaster. Contaminated water facilitates the spread of disease, Meer foundation USBD works to provide relief in the aftermath of natural disasters.

Our Sewing Machine project is a very unique and special project. The goal of this project is to provide sewing machines to the women suffering from extreme poverty in Bangladesh.

Many people suffering from poverty in Bangladesh are forced to walk long distances everyday just to get a sip of clean water. We believe that water is a basic human right that every human should easily have access to.

The holy month of Ramadan is a very special and precious month to us Muslims. In the hot climate of Bangladesh, fasting all day can really drain a person. We make sure to provide a fresh Iftar dinner for as many people as we can so that they can end their fast properly and have a meal they deserve.

During Eid Ul-Adha it is very important for us Muslims to give a sacrifice (Qurbani). It is obligatory for Muslims who give a sacrifice to make sure that not only his family is happy and eating, but his poor Muslim brothers and sisters are too.
